New Beginnings 4 U CIO

We praise God for the men who have given their lives to Jesus while in prison, and for those,  who through our influence, and the Chapel Services, will give their lives to the Lord in the future, strengthening them for their return to the outside world.

We are helping inmates who have been in prison for 20, 30 and even 40 years. They admit they have been in dark places and need people and communities to believe in their desire to turn their lives around, and not focus on what they did all those years ago.

Working with offenders, of all faiths, or none, is never popular, and the media often distorts the reality and complexity of many offenders’ lives and this makes supporting them even harder. Yet as Christians we know the power of grace and forgiveness, and the JOY that comes from a new life. We also know that Jesus spent a lot of time reaching out to the poor, the marginalised and the unloved of society. This is what New Beginnings and its team of Trustees and visitors is striving to do. One of our Trustees has produced a very helpful leaflet with information on where to go for additional help and support for the men on release.
